Type Locality and Naming

Along the Bulyamush River. V.V. Mikhailov in 1998 (460, p.33). . Stratotype along the Bulyamush River. [Katarmai Mountains are in the northern part of the Ziaetdin Mountains.]

Synonym: Bulyamushskaya Suite, Булямушская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Mica-schists, siliceous slates, phyllites, metasandstones, meta-siltstones, quartzites, gravelites. Rocks are metamorphosed in the green schist facies, and primary sedimentary textures are clearly observed. Thickness: 950m.

Age 

Age is conditionally accepted as Vendian by comparison with the lower parts of the Khodzhaakhmet Fm (South Bukantau) and the Kurghantau Fm (South Tamdytau). Previously, V.S. Korsakov et al. (1984) included the deposits of the Bulyamush Fm in the composition of the Upper Katarmai sub-suite of the Lower Devonian; L.N. Belkova (101) - in the Auminzin Fm of the Riphean; Yu.A. Likhachev et al. (266) - to the Lower Paleozoic; on the State Geological Map-500 of Uzbekistan (460) - conditionally Vendian age.
